The C232HM-DDHSL-0, USB to MPSSE cable, is capable providing a USB to SPI, I2C or JTAG interface.

This is accomplished by the MPSSE within the FT232H device which has the ability to emulate synchronous serial protocols while handling all the USB signalling and protocols.
To expedite application development, FTDI has provided libraries which handle the MPSSE commands to emulate several protocols.
NOTE: use of the MPSSE libraries requires that FTDI's D2XX drivers are installed.
